Today I'll go over the four most important positions in football. I think two of the four are obvious (Quarterback and Left Tackle), one you might expect, and the other is a bit of a surprise.

I think most everyone would assume Left Tackle and Quarterback would make the list. Unless you play in the SEC, you don't need a Quarterback (no offense, ... Read More

I don't know about you, but this division could break any number of ways and I wouldn't be surprised. Most of you will probably assume that New England is still a lock to win the division, and in years past I would have agreed with you. Now I'm not so sure.

Survival style, we'll go from who I predict will finish in fourth to first.

1. Robert Griff -- Wow, Did You See That Run?

Robert Griffin III may be better than advertised this year, and that is really saying something. As of Monday, he's leading the league in completion percentage (70.2%) and is third in the league in QB Rating. Oh, and then there was this on Sunday...

Not much has changed from week four to five, the undefeated teams stayed that way, while the Browns continued their season of ineptitude. The referees thankfully didn't make any egregious errors that I saw, but feel free to chime in with any you saw.

1. Houston and Atlanta

At this point we should play the who loses first game. With Houston facing ... Read More

Who Needs A Win:

Every week, Matt and Brendan pick a team who needs a win. It’s begun comical to pick the Saints because of how obvious it is. With that in mind, here are their picks.

Brendan - Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers had the first bye week last week and only sit at 1-2 after four weeks of the season. That said, they could fall into trouble catching up not only

It is an age old debate, and we all do it every year. At the quarter-mark of this NFL season what is the best division in the NFL? This is like the Highlander, there can be only one.

8. AFC South

The Titans have been outscored by 70 points this year, a league worst. And the division, as a whole, has been outscored by the most points ... Read More

Is Tony Romo an elite Quarterback? Remember when we all had this debate before the season? This is the type of game that scares the hell out of you as a head coach. And the worst part -- this is the second time he's thrown five interceptions on a Monday Night Football game, becoming the first person to do so.

In the Cowboys 34-18 loss at home against ... Read More

So the weekend was full of a few high-scoring games, entertaining thrill-rides and a few snoozers. There were no major upsets, but a few close calls kept the day extremely entertaining. With that in mind, the five biggest story lines from the weekend.

1) The regular referees are back -- and we're all happy for now, right?

The games moved faster, the calls seemed to be mostly correct, and ... Read More

Matt and Brendan are back again this week giving their take on who needs a win the most in week 4. They both agreed previously to not include the Saints because it was too obvious of a choice.

Matt – Carolina Panthers

Sports have the tendency to be “what have you done for me lately” and for Cam Netwon, the second year quarterback has fallen ... Read More

There are no Dallas Cowboys teams of the mid-90's or San Francisco 49ers teams of the 1980's in the NFL. We have no dominant teams that can go on multi-year runs of championships. We also have no teams that are consistently drafting in the top-3 -- Oh, wait, sorry Cleveland. Speaking of which, how long ago does 2007 seem?

With that said, the parity in the league ... Read More

So yeah, that happened Monday night. We all saw it.

The NFL Replacement Referees are a disgrace. It isn't all their fault, a lot of it falls on the NFL and a little bit more on the regular referees. This is beyond unacceptable.

It is to the point now that this referee fiasco is just pure comedy. You literally cannot do anything except ... Read More

Cardinals-Eagles

Why to watch:

Of the six undefeated teams remaining, two of them face off this week. Both the Cardinals and the Eagles have had games down to the wire and this week should be no exception.

X-Factor

Matt – QB Kevin Kolb, Arizona Cardinals

Last year, the Cardinals beat the Eagles 21-17. While Kevin Kolb was hurt on ... Read More

It was an interesting week in the NFL, to say the least. We saw some trends developing, and unfortunately, some seasons ending.

1) Struggling Running Backs

Titans Running Back Chris Johnson is averaging 1.1 yards per carry. Chiefs Running Back Jamaal Charles finished with three yards total. Raiders Running Back Darren McFadden barely has 50 yards ... Read More

New Orleans Saints at Carolina Panthers, 1:00 PM on FOX

Why To Watch:

The Saints are coming off a shocking loss against the upstart Washington Redskins. Meanwhile, the Panthers finished with 10 yards rushing last week and will be looking for their first win of the season. Which of these teams with playoff aspirations starts 0-2?

First and foremost, what this means is that Roger Goodell is no longer infallible.

However, what the ruling didn't do was lift the ban on coach Sean Payton. Furthermore, it doesn't overturn any of the myriad of other questionable decisions that have gone down during the Goodell era.

There are immediate short term benefits for the Saints and the Browns. The Saints already saw the return of ... Read More
